Swimming Lessons

Two weeks ago we had our new Swimming pool arrive. For the first two days of swimming we did not go because there was something broken, so after that we got to swim. Our Teacher divided us into two groups, the groups were called group one and group two. I was in group one which most of the boys, group two had most of the girls. Our group was the group that always went swimming first.

We got changed into our swimming togs and we went over to the pool. We got there and we opened the gate and hung up our towels beside us on the gate. We got in, it was very warm and that was when I put on my goggles. We had to split up, one bunch of us went on to the other side in a corner and the other group were on the other side. We had to listen to the instructor or we would be kicked out. It was so exciting that the instructor had to tell us to quiet down so we did. The instructor’s name was Jillian and our other instructor was called Kevin.

We started off with simple lessons, we were practicing all kinds of stuff like how to glide. In order to glide you have to stretch out your arms up high behind your ears and you have to push off the side with your legs but you do not kick. We also learned how to float on our backs, but our belly button had to be up like a banana.

After our lessons we  got to have races. We had to get into groups of 3, I was with Patrick and Christopher. Jillian gave us numbers because when she called our number we had to race each other. She called another team then she called us. We all took off together and I ended up coming first, followed by Patrick and Christopher last. Finally we got to have free time at the end. Once we finished free time we had to get out because it was time for group two to have a turn.

My favourite part of being in the swimming pool was having free time because we got to do whatever we liked but we weren't allowed to do silly stuff.

Maths Reflection

I like maths because we learn about stuff that we have not learned before and also I like when we go on to Maths Whizz because I learn all kinds of stuff like place value and measurement.
I am in Pondering pentagons. This week we are learning to use different strategies to answer word problems. I like to go onto Xtra Maths because it gives you addition questions that are challenging for you also it helps you improve in maths.
In Addition and Subtraction I am on Stage 5.

My Pencil

A pencil is made out of wood also it is very useful.

A pencil is as sharp as a needle and thorn, also it is as useful as a pen or a felt. When a pencil is blunt it makes a smudgy mess like a car with a flat tyres.

It can be found in plenty of places like at the supermarket and other places. It is long but some pencils are shaped like a circle, some are shaped like a hexagon.

A pencil is very easy to hold, also it is very thin and some pencils are colourful. Some pencils have little rubbers at the end of them.

My learning tool can do plenty of things like it can draw and write on paper, on wood and all sort of stuff. My drawing friend can be used one way which is you have to pick it up and hold it and write or draw or do whatever you are going to do with it.

Some of my drawing friend are as yellow as the bright shining sun also as red as a rose.

My Mother.

My Mother is a beautiful mother, also she is a very good mother. I love her just as much as she loves me.

My Mother is good to me at all times. She has beautiful hair just like the very dark night and she has black eyes just like the wonderful shining stars.

My mother helps me to do the right thing. She is a very loving and kind mother because she likes to cuddle me when I am sick, also she likes to go work to get money so she can pay the bills. She is mostly the one that cheers me up when I am down.

My Mum does not like when I get in trouble at school and she hates when I get smart to my big brothers. She likes sweet stuff but she mostly loves her family.

What makes my Mum special and Unique is that she is a very kind and loving mother also she loves to help people when they are in a time of need.

My mother is very special because she looks after the sick people at her work also she looks after me and the rest of my family.
