Kiwi sport Touch

Today was our third lesson of touch.  We started of with run and touch.  The offender had to run with the ball and the defender had to chase him and touch him before he placed the ball on the try line.  Straight after that we got straight into drills.  We did some drills that could be useful for us when we use it in a touch game.  Finally we got to play a game that we all enjoyed.  It was kinda like touch but there was three offenders and two defenders.  Finally the lesson was over.  Most of us were sweating and we were tired.  It was a great touch lesson also was a great day with the sun out.

Touch Training.

I am looking forward to playing Touch also looking forward to the skills we are going to learn.

I am expecting to play some games then get on with what we are going to learn.

I think we are doing it to learn how to play Touch properly and learn the right rules for touch.

What I think we will see is cones, balls and the Touch New Zealand team there to teach us how to play Touch properly.

Triathlon.

A Triathlon is a competition where three sports are mixed together which is swimming, running and biking. It is a sport where little people and big people can participate. The rules are to not cheat while you are doing competition and that you are not allowed to ride your bicycle inside the transition. Transition means a place where you park your bike also you have to wear safety gear while you are doing a Triathlon. Also you have to train very hard to be fit to do this sport because it is a very a long distance.

Sportsmanship

To make sports better you should be a  good sportsman by playing fair and not cheating. Also you have to show respect to the ref.  You can show sportsmanship by being kind and not getting angry with the team.  When playing sport everyone should be honest and not fight eachother.

Taewondo

In Taekwondo you strike or block with the foot or kick and also jump. In Taekwondo there are no age limits also it is a very good sport for children to play. Taekwondo is not a sport where you hurt other people but having control of your-self.  In Taekwondo you can only play it when there is a referee or a professional there to watch. Taekwondo is kind of like Martial.

Orienteering Week 1

On a lovely sunny day we had a man come into our class
with Miss Tui after morning tea to teach us about Orienteering. After Mr McGivern came in Miss Tui told us to come and sit on the mat and we all came and sat on the mat and we all had to be quiet. The man started to talk to me and the class and our teacher Miss Deeney about what we use in orienteering he told us how to use a clipper and who to punch it and he told us how to read a map.

After that Mr McGivern gave some of the room three students a letter on a yellow piece of paper with a number on it and they had to go and hid it somewhere inside the classroom. After that all of room three students had to go and find them. All of us got all the words and we wrote them onto our piece of paper and we got them all right. We had to go back to the mat and guess what it said but Mr McGivern told us to read it backwards and all of us saw that it said ‘have a nice day’.

Finally we got to go outside and play Orienteering with Mr McGivern. What we had to do was we had to run around in a circle and find the letters you have been given from Mr McGivern. We had to use the clipper and punch it and we all did it. On the way to class the bell just rang for morning tea and we went straight to morning tea and started to play again.

Orienteering.

  • Orienteering is a sport where you have to think very much and you can play it when you have a broken arm or if you’re in a wheelchair.

  • In orienteering you're only allowed to use a map when you're in primary and use a compass when you are in high school.

  • In orienteering you navigate to the places on the map.
  • In orienteering you have to work as a team because if you don’t you might lose and let your team down.
